Location Bad Nederrijn

Besides the beautiful boating routes on the Lower Rhine, there is more than enough to experience! Indeed, the landscape is very varied, being located between the flat Betuwe and the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Between the many beaches, groynes and green landscapes you will fall from one surprise to another. In the vicinity of Maurik are numerous forests on hills. What makes the area even more unique are the two dams that can be found here at Driel and Amerongen. You will imagine yourself in a completely different world! The Lower Rhine almost always has a lovely current, which makes boating very pleasant. The transition from the Nederrijn to the Lek is at the branch of the Kromme Rijn, just west of Wijk bij Duurstede.

The Blue Flag

The Blue Flag is an international environmental award, given annually to beaches and marinas. The Blue Flag recognises the beach or marina's efforts in environmental and sustainability management, safety, water quality, awareness and education, and waste prevention and sorting. In doing so, they have to meet various criteria.

MarinaPark Bad Nederrijn has also held this award for many years. About 130 marinas in the Netherlands are recognised with the Blue Flag.

The purpose of the Blue Flag programme is to get governments, entrepreneurs and holidaymakers permanently involved in caring for clean and safe water, beautiful nature and a healthy environment. Being allowed to fly a Blue Flag is recognition of the efforts made by the beach municipality or marina manager in this area. For tourists, the Blue Flag is the international recognition and quality symbol for clean beaches with good water quality and safe and clean marinas.
